EACC Honors Breakfast and Commencement Exercises

Trojan Family:

On Friday morning, May 10, 2019, Tionna Martin, Valedictorian of the Lee Senior High School Class of 2019, was recognized at East Arkansas Community College’s Honors Breakfast for the completion of her Associate of Arts Degree with the distinction, Cum Laude. During the breakfast, East Arkansas Community College began its tradition of highlighting Honors students with cords, to be worn with their academic regalia, recognizing their significant achievement. Tionna’s dual white cord represented students who have completed their East Arkansas Community College degrees with a grade point average between 3.35-3.59.

The Commencement Ceremony was Friday evening, May 10, 2019, at 7:00pm in the Fine Arts Center on the campus of East Arkansas Community College in Forrest City, Arkansas.

Please join the Principal, Mr. Rafael Smith, and Faculty and Staff of Lee Senior High School in celebrating Lee County’s first student to complete their Associates Degree concurrently with their high school diploma and the 3rd student, by alphabet only, as there is another high school student graduating this year from an adjacent county, to complete their Associates Degree from East Arkansas Community College while a high school student. One of the requirements for regular admission to a degree seeking program at East Arkansas Community College is a High School Diploma or its equivalent, which she will receive on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Lee Senior High School’s Commencement Ceremony. During the commencement ceremony, the President of East Arkansas Community College, Dr. Cathie Cline, will formally award Tionna’s Associates Degree.
