Hello Lee County, The Lee County School District continues to improve. We have received two distinguish awards from the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas. We appreciate all the support we are getting from our parents and community! These awards show that together WE CAN make a difference in the academic success of our students. Anna Strong Learning Academy and Lee High have been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas as schools that are Beating the Odds, because students demonstrated high growth on the ACT Aspire even though the schools serve a high percentage of students who participate in Free and Reduced Lunch! As you may know, the OEP creates an annual report entitled the Outstanding Educational Performance Awards where we recognize schools with high student academic growth. We think growth is the best indicator of the positive impact that your school is having on students. Good morning Lee County! There are a lot of things happening this week! It is Homecoming week and you can feel the excitement! On Friday, the parade will begin at 4:00 pm, the royal court takes the field at 6:00 p.m. and the game begins at 7:00 p.m. We have planned several half time presentations. Lee High School Musical Marching Band and cheer will showcase their talents, Cross County Band will perform and we have a guest performance. Come out and celebrate Homecoming with us! Dear Principal Branch, Congratulations! In our Elementary School Level report published today, Anna Strong Learning Academy received the following award: High Overall Growth (Southeast region) We provide a badge for placement on your school's website (attached), and personalized paper awards will be sent to the district later this school year. Awards are based on the 2023 content growth score calculated by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. These growth scores reflect how much students at the school improved from 2022 compared to how much they were expected to grow considering prior achievement. We recognize schools based on Overall growth, as well as for growth in Math and English Language Arts separately. We have a limited amount of space inside the gates of the stadium and want to invite local vendors on a first come first serve basis. Applications are in the front office at the high school (523 Forrest Ave). You must pick up an application complete it and submit the application to the Superintendent's office at 161 Walnut Street Marianna, AR 72360 where they will be dated and timed stamped upon receipt. Hello Lee County! Trojans fans and support is GREAT for our student groups, athletes and district. We value that much desired support. There are a few things that we expect from our fans. 1) We expect our fans to be RESPECTFUL. Respect the coach, the officials and all participating athletes. 2) We expect our fans to show up and encourage.
